How this backup works, and what it does with Google Drive.
Coeus PC Backup is a private tool that keeps an encrypted, off-site copy of one computer in its owner's own Google Drive. It has one user and is not offered to anyone else. This page explains how it works and is its privacy policy.
Four steps, every night.

STEP 1
Pick up changes
Selected work folders on the computer, including project code and its version history.

Encrypt on the PC
Files are encrypted before they leave the computer, with a key only the owner holds.

Upload to Drive
Only the encrypted copies go to one folder, Backups/PC, in the owner's Google Drive.

Restore and prove it
A restore pulls a copy back down and decrypts it on the PC. A regular restore test proves it still works.
What it uses in Google Drive, and what it never touches.
Uses
- +Creates and updates backup files in Backups/PC.
- +Lists and reads those same files to see what is already saved and to restore.
- +Only the owner's own Google account.
Never touches
- –Any other file or folder in Drive.
- –Gmail, contacts, calendar or any other Google service.
- –Anyone else's account or data.
Google asks this app for full Drive access (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive) only because earlier backups made by another tool already live in that folder and must stay visible. The backup tool itself only ever works inside Backups/PC.
How the data is handled.
Encrypted first
Google stores only encrypted copies. The encryption key never leaves the owner's control.
Sign-in stays local
Google's access token is kept only in the backup tool's settings on the owner's computer. It is never sent to Coeus Tech servers or anyone else.
No sharing
No Google user data is sold, shared or transferred to anyone.
No ads, no AI training
Data from Google APIs is never used for advertising or profiling, and never used to develop, improve or train any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model.
How long it is kept
Backups stay in the owner's Drive for as long as the owner keeps them. Deleting the Backups/PC folder removes them.
Turn it off any time
Remove the app's access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Removing the backup's Drive connection on the computer deletes its stored token.
Coeus PC Backup's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
